I like being organized. I can be so organized that I create charts and mind maps to help organize my ideas and thoughts! I have gone so far as to organize a meal prep chart for building a salad! Truth be told, I made the chart so that anyone can have a plethora of ready ideas for that on the go salad. The chart is a big help when you just don't know what to have or what to combine and it also ensures you do not skip any food group. You will have protein, fibre, healthy fats and carbohydrates in every bite! The Build a Meal Salad also is a great reminder of all the types of vegetables, greens, protein options that you may not have thought of or even known about!
Click on Build a Meal: Salad chart is to help you get creative and to tantalize your taste buds! For example, did you know that grapes, granny smith apple mixed with baby greens, feta and an Italian vinaigrette tastes awesome? How about having strawberries with pistachio nuts? Yum! Or grilled zucchini and asparagus with caramelized sweet onions on a bed of greens with avocado and chicken breast? My favourite as of late is a chipotle quinoa salad. Made with cooked quinoa, caramelized onions, sautéed red or yellow peppers,grated and sautéed carrots sided with romaine lettuce, and of course a chipotle dressing! Yum, double that, yum yum!! That literally was a mouthful!!!!! With so many fresh seasonal greens, summer and fall is the perfect time to get your salad game on!
